The Land and Water Conservation Department (LWCD) is committed to working with private landowners, municipalities, lake groups, local schools, concerned citizens, and local and state resource partners on conservation efforts that preserve and protect soil & water resources in Iron County. The department provides technical assistance, educational programs, and Cost-Share opportunities targeted at controlling soil erosion, improving nutrient management, and preventing non-point source pollution.
Iron County revised its Land & Water Resource Management Plan. The plan was approved by the Iron County Board on January 26, 2010 and by the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection on February 2, 2010.
The Iron County LWCD produces an ANNUAL REPORT which includes a summary of the fiscal administration, technical assistance provided, cost-share projects, Native Plant Sales & scholarship updates, education accomplishments, and more. Contact the LCD to recieve a copy.
