The Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, & Iron Counties Land Conservation Committee provides the following scholarship opportunity to high school seniors and teachers. This scholarship is funded by our Native Plant Sale.
Students - This $1000 scholarship is available to graduating seniors residing in Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, or Iron Counties who plan to pursue study in natural resource conservation, or science-related field, at a two or four-year College or University.
Interested students must submit a typed, written narrative (300-500 words), along with a completed application form to the ABDI-LCD by April 27, 2007. Download the application here (pdf).
Teachers – A $250 scholarship is available for a teacher seminar at Trees for Tomorrow Natural Resources School in Eagle River, Wisconsin. The scholarship is open to any teacher residing in Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, or Iron Counties.
Teachers interested in obtaining a scholarship should send their request on school stationary to the ABDI-LCD office by April 27, 2007 for consideration. In your letter please identify the teacher seminar you are interested in attending and a very brief explanation as to why you feel this seminar will aid you in the classroom.
