Technical Assistance

The Land & Water Conservation Department (LCD) provides technical assistance to private landowners, municipalities, and Towns for:

• Sediment and erosion control
• Conservation planning & practice design
• Stormwater management
• Shoreland mitigation
• Streambank and shoreland stabilization & habitat restoration
• Wetland restoration
• Access road design & construction
• Non-metallic Mining Reclamation Plan review
• Best Management Practices (BMPs) recommendations
• and many additional practices eligible through the Cost-Share program

In some cases, assistance will be needed from the Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) engineers and civil engineer technicians or outside engineering firms. Grant funds may be utilized when additional funding outside of the county is necessary.
